An amusing piece but perhaps not as amusing to Christian appears on www.xxxporntalk.com
Christian in his popular blog, www.christiansingstheblues.com lent details on his purchase of a new car. However, duckduckgoose on XPT states the following:
“Christian, I’m a fan of your blog, and you seem like a genuinely nice guy. However, today you posted about buying a new car, and something about the math just doesn’t make sense.
According to your blog, you bought a new 2008 Honda CR-V as follows :
$10,000 downpayment
$5,000 trade-in value for existing vehicle
48 months loan financed at 9.24%
$639/month actual payment
Now, I punched those numbers into this auto loan calculator, and it comes back with a total loan value around $40,000. That amount would include any taxes and other fees; and you also say you had them pack in some rims and navigation options.
I can’t figure out how a vehicle that sells for $21,300 (note the sticker price in the window) ends up costing $40,000 !!
Even worse, you stated that the dealer gave you $5000 for trade-in on your 2003 Honda CR-V with 120,000 miles. I went on AutoTrader.com, and did a search for that make, model and year of vehicle within 200 miles of zipcode 90210. There were five of them on there near or above that mileage, with selling prices ranging between $11,000 and $14,000. Kelley Blue Book value for a vehicle with the same specs ranges from $4890 to $6650 for trade-in value, or $7275 to $9060 for a private party sale.
Joey Silvera isn’t the only one running a Strap Attack — looks like Carlos at Power Honda Valencia also likes to stick it in, twist it, and break it off.”
