CLEVELAND - from www.newsnet5.com - A downtown Cleveland strip club was busted by state investigators for allegedly carrying out illegal sex and drug activities inside the business.
According to the Ohio Investigative Unit, undercover agents and Cleveland police executed a search warrant Wednesday at Crazy Horse in the 1400 block of St. Clair. The official name of the business is Gold Restaurant, Inc.
The OIU said it obtained the warrant after receiving complaints about drug abuse at the club.
"We have a responsibility to make sure that all liquor permit premises are following the law," said OIU Cleveland Agent-in-Charge Greg Croft. "During this operation, undercover agents were subjected to sexual activity that was beyond the legal limits of the adult entertainment industry."
The OIU filed these 15 administrative charges against the business:
- 1 count: Disorderly activity
- 1 count: Solicitation of something of value
- 1 count: Drug possession
- 4 counts: Nudity
- 4 counts: Engaging in sexual activity
- 4 counts: Public indecency
The charges will be given to the Cleveland municipal prosecutor for consideration of criminal charges, the OIU said. The information will also be passed along to the Liquor Control Commission, which could fine or suspend/revoke the establishment’s liquor license.
