Yukon, Canada- Applicants for a recent job at a government camp had to drop their resumés off at a Whitehorse sex shop, and that’s just not right, Liberal MLA Gary McRobb complained in the legislature Thursday.
“If the government’s leading them [workers] to a sex shop to apply at a government facility, what kind of message does that send?” McRobb asked Premier Dennis Fentie.
Fentie dismissed the issue, saying: “There is no answer to this question because it is absolute rubbish and has no place in this institution.”
A recent job posting for a cook at the Blanchard highway camp said people should apply at the Adult Warehouse, which has the same owner as Rupert’s Catering, which has the government camp contract.
When told the issue was debated in the legislature, Adult Warehouse manager Ellen Oppold dismissed the politicians as a “bunch of prudes.”
The job, she added, was filled two weeks ago.
