The Erotic Heritage Museum (EHM) in Las Vegas has launched the ED Archive Exhibit, showcasing the memorabilia of publisher Don Waitt and three decades of Erotic Dancer magazine. The exhibit features a digital display of Erotic Dancer magazines and personal artifacts, celebrating the gentlemen's club industry and Don Waitt's life.
Exhibit Details and Debut
The ED Archive Exhibit debuted with a reception at the EHM on August 23, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The reception coincided with the first day of the annual 2026 ED Expo. Attendees from the expo can enter the reception free by showing their expo badge, while the general public can purchase regular museum admission to attend.
Devyn Waitt, Don Waitt's daughter, produced the digital display of Erotic Dancer magazines and personal artifacts. These items represent three decades of the publication and the gentlemen's club industry. Devyn Waitt stated that a notable aspect of the exhibit is the ability for visitors to explore the entirety of the archive in one location, allowing them to "carve their own path through it."
The concept for the archive emerged during a meeting in Las Vegas when Don Waitt was interviewing Deja Vu founder Harry Mohney for his Founders Interview Series. Don Waitt mentioned plans to archive the magazines for the Erotic Heritage Museum during a meetup with Devyn Waitt, Harry Mohney, and Mohney's wife at a karaoke bar. The project gained urgency following Don Waitt's passing in March, as ED Publications was in the process of moving offices. Devyn Waitt expressed concern that materials might be lost during the move, prompting her to collect copies of the magazines from the office.
Don Waitt's Legacy and Industry Impact
Don Waitt was the publisher of Erotic Dancer magazine and led the company that supported the erotic dance business. His work chronicled an industry that influenced culture, challenged convention, and became part of the fabric of Las Vegas.
Dr. Victoria Hartmann, director of the Erotic Heritage Museum, acknowledged Don Waitt's contributions. Dr. Hartmann also expressed gratitude to Harry Mohney, identified as a Grand Patron, for his commitment to preserving the history of human sexuality, which established a venue where stories like Don Waitt's can be shared. Dr. Hartmann emphasized that preserving this legacy is not about endorsement, but about ensuring that the people, industries, and ideas that shaped culture are documented, studied, and not erased. Dr. Hartmann further stated that while museums are often expected to preserve history that is approved of, the EHM believes they should preserve the history that shaped society.
The exhibit highlights Don Waitt's professional and creative work as the founder and publisher of ED Magazine. The May 2026 issue of ED Magazine featured an article by Devyn Waitt discussing her experience curating the exhibit and honoring her father's impact on the adult nightclub industry.
