Final: Conversations with Angie Savage

Porn Valley- At her request, I’m escorting Angie Savage to the ladies room at Jerry’s Deli- a task that certainly sizes up to the occupation of gossip mongering.

Someone from Jerry’s later asks me who the “movie star” was. And that pretty much sums up the Savage vibe, Angie, a scintillating lady who lights up a room of salami, mustard and piled high corned beef.

Savage, www.angiesavage.com has been in the business four years, but till now has done girl-girl scenes exclusively. She’s just begun doing boy-girl with her husband and will now extend the math beyond, with a threesome this week that includes Marcus London. After that, Savage will choose her future male partners, accordingly.

“I started out small doing mostly solo stuff,” Savage explains. Which is a funny comment taken in the context of Savage’s now abundant cleavage.

“I was a small A-cup,” she laughs. “I did a couple of movies, and I did my first girl-girl which was my first time with a woman. It was really hot- it was for a movie called No Cocks Allowed for Elegant Angel. I worked with Michelle Lay and Alicia Rhodes.

“The girls were just amazing. They were a lot more experienced. They played two hookers that my husband hired to give me my first experience. They rocked my world. It was just amazing. I felt so comfortable, and I was just hooked from thereon out.”

It’s remarked that for being in the business four years, Savage remains so pleasant, jovial and not a hardened criminal.

“How do you maintain your balance?” I ask her.

“I’m really picky with my work,” says Savage. “I only do stuff that I enjoy. I always work for the high end companies where it’s pleasant on set, it’s catered and they take care of you. These are big productions and a lot of money are put into them. They take them seriously.”

Savage has never been under contract and says it’s probably for the reasons that her boy-girl scenes so far have been reserved for her husband, Devon Savage.

“Recently after four years we’ve decided to do out first boy-boy-girl on camera,” she says. We’ll be shooting in two days [Tuesday]. It’s with Marcus London who we picked together. He’s a great friend and a great performer all-around. It’s his directorial debut for Penthouse. It’s going to be called Layover…it’s an airline/stewardess, everybody’s in a hotel. So you can imagine.”

I inform Savage that there was a porn film from the Eighties, also with that title. Back when everything was a big production.

Savage goes on to say that London’s directing two movies and that she stars in both.

“The other is called Letters,” she continues. “That should be fun. I do a girl-girl in that one but I’m pretty excited about the boy-boy-girl. My husband and I are pretty kinky in our personal lives but we’ve never taken that extra step on film. I think my fans will like it because I’m going for it.”

Asked what she was like growing up, Savage tells the story about how some guy showed her his penis in a K-Mart. She was five years old, and remembers her old man chasing after the guy. Afterwards, when she was in high school her father built booby traps with spikes around the outside of her bedroom window to ward off creeps and Peeping Toms. True story, she says. Dad was an Eighth Degree Black Belt.

Otherwise Savage grew up without further incident in Santa Cruz, California and was very athletic. She has an older sister.

“My family was wonderful, and they were always around,” said Savage anticipating the question as to whether she grew up locked in a closet.

“My dad was my volley ball coach and basketball coach,” she continues. “He was also a karate instructor along with my mom. I sang in jazz and concert choir. I graduated high school early. I did home school for my last two and half years. I made a deal. I was determined to graduate, then move down to Newport Beach if I graduated. I did it and my parents were supportive. I moved out on my own when I was 17.”

Savage wanted to act. But when she moved she did everything but acting. With precise career objectives in mind, she waitressed, bartended and worked as an office manager for an online dating site. Then she got her real estate license. Savage also went to makeup school.

“I was no good at that,” she laughs. “I went to Paramount Studios to get my makeup license. I did one job- a Black & Decker commercial. I was on set for 17 hours working on talent that was ungrateful. I really wanted to be in front of a camera not behind it. So basically I was at my wits end with all these jobs. Then I sent my pictures to Hustler.”

Savage explains that being behind a desk and “a sitting duck,” she wanted something else in her life.

“I was a very horny girl,” she says. “Besides me and my husband were going broke fucking all the time, basically. So we decided to start filming it just for fun.”

Savage met her husband five years before they began dating.

“We were friends and I was dating his old bass player,” she continues. “He [her future husband] was married at the time. We became friends and he got divorced. Then we moved to Los Angeles. I left Newport Beach, put my stuff in storage and got on unemployment. Next thing you know we moved in together.”

When she got to LA, Savage modeled and began answering ads.

“It was Penny Saver kind of stuff for topless modeling,” she relates. “I did a little bit of that. There are ads like that but it’s not what I recommend for a young girl because I ran into some interesting characters.

“But I was smart enough to bring somebody along with me, which I recommend. I just knew that I wanted to model, but I was too short for fashion modeling. I had tattoos on my back- large angel wings- so I figured who will have me? The adult world accepted me and Hustler was really encouraging. They had me come in. I went to the top floor, to Larry Flynt’s office. They took some Polaroids. And the following week we shot a boy-girl layout for the magazine.”

I asked Savage if those tapes she made of herself and her husband in the throes of sexual congress ever got out to the Internet.

“Were you hoping to make celebrity sex tapes then blow the whistle on yourself once you became celebrities?” she’s asked.

“Neither one of us were celebrities,” laughs Savage. “But he’s a musician and has come out with his first album, Killing Grace, the Band. It’s for sale on www.cdbaby.com

“So now it could be kind of a bonus since both of us are in the adult industry. But we were just doing it for fun. I was the kinkier one of the two. I brought a bunch of adult movies to our repertoire and put them on. It was midget porn!”

I told Savage I have one of the largest midget porn collections in the Valley and trust that she knew I was kidding.

“I had this one video called Filthy Fuckers and it was so great,” Savage goes on to say. “It was two midgets fucking a black guy and it was so hot to me!”

“My husband and I started taking pictures and he’d take naked Polaroids,” relates Savage. “We’d do all kinds of funny things. He was very encouraging and told me I looked great naked and sucking cock. I enjoyed it and after the Hustler layout I was hooked. I loved it.”

The fact that Savage states she’s kinky begs the question of why till now has she limited her sexual partners on screen.

“I feel that it’s smart and you have to build your career with a long term plan,” she explains. “If you give people everything right away you burn out. So it was a plan of mine to go in gradually, not freak out, and quit the industry.”

“Four years is a long striptease,” I remind her.

“It is,” Savage concedes. “I held out on the anal thing. I just did a toy [anal] with jessica drake for a Wicked movie. It was my first ever and not even on my website can you see that. That was important for me that it would be for a big budget movie with somebody who I thought would get the movie out there. And Jessica and Wicked Pictures was good place to do it.

“With this boy-boy-girl, I wanted to make sure that I had a name in the industry, some what, before I put it out there so I could advertise it that way, that it’s a first kind of thing. And Penthouse is a perfect company for me to do that with. I’ve been shooting for them awhile and I love them and am very comfortable with the crew. I’m going to give it a whirl.”

In spite of the parental booby traps, Savage was 16 the first time she had sex. It was with her boyfriend of two years.

“I made the poor guy wait,” she laughs. “But he needed to because he was older than me! It was not a pleasant experience, honestly. It hurt and I remember him saying to me thinking it was going to be this really sexy thing. He was trying to talk dirty to me but we were both inexperienced. He was, like, come you bitch! And I just started crying. Tears were coming down my face. I was saying this is not romantic.”

“This sounds more like your first adult shoot then your first time,” I tell Angie.

“Then he tried putting strawberry jelly on my crotch and started licking it off,” she continues. “It was so sticky and I’m going this is horrible. This is a really bad first time.”

On hindsight, Savage figures because she made the guy wait so long he turned into “a horrible beast.”

Savage goes on to say that the scenario played out in a bedroom on Valentine’s Day. Very romantic.

“Did this open up your eyes to know that you were with Son of Sam?” I ask her.

Savage says she was very young but needed to break off and experience some things.

“I dated a little bit in Santa Cruz for about another year until I moved away,” she says. “I was just on a mission for adventure. I grew up in a very small town and all my friends there seemed just to want to have babies, get married, graduate and that was it. It was a beautiful town but I just wanted to get out and be in Hollywood. I had high hopes.”

Savage feels she’s in a happy place and has been getting good advice with her career.

“I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far,” she states. “I feel so lucky to have someone like Michael Fattorosi [her attorney] on my side, to kind of kick me in the butt once in awhile. I can always go to him with questions.”

Savage’s home videos, webcams, movies and pictures are on her website.

“I’m hands on, 100%,” she adds. “I’m a web geek. I like to be in control of it.”

Savage acknowledges how she picked up her skills from the online company she worked for.

“I learned a lot there- I don’t know why they hired me really,” she laughs. “They stole me away from another computer company. They offered me this very large salary to run the company up front, organize and decorate, basically. But I learned a lot. They kept me around for a couple of years. Maybe it was because I wore mini-skirts every day.”
