from www.tmz.com – Heidi Fleiss might have to break out her little black book again — because the fire that ravaged her home on Thanksgiving is gonna set her back some serious cash.
Fleiss tells TMZ the fire caused more than $60,000 worth of damage — she lost the entire guest house (where she keeps her birds), almost all her clothes, and her Tempur-Pedic mattress was ruined.
The former madame says her 20 birds are all safe and she has to make sure she boards off the bird room so that no toxic vapors harm her fine feathered friends.

from www.fox5vegas.com – PAHRUMP, Nev. — Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss escaped a fire that damaged much of her Pahrump home on Thursday morning.
The 44-year-old didn’t want to speak to FOX5 on camera, but said she was unharmed and managed to escape with several birds she cares for at the house.
Fleiss said the fire started in a chimney, which lacked a spark arrestor, a device that prevents sparks from escaping into other parts of the home.
Firefighters did not immediately confirm Fleiss’s account of the fire or provide an estimate of the damage.
Fleiss moved to southern Nevada in the mid-2000s and immediately drew national media attention when she announced plans to open a brothel catering to women.
That plan never came to fruition, but Fleiss eventually opened a Laundromat named Dirty Laundry in Pahrump and a pet grooming business in Henderson.
Fleiss also made headlines earlier this year when she called police to report a suspicious person outside of her home. That person turned out to be then-Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett, who was charged with drunken driving.
