realize that it does not.

The fact that the FAMU sex tape rumor has gained as much steam and credence as it has demonstrates the degree to which people will lose all logic when it comes to scandalous sex. Or perhaps they lose all logic when it comes to the opportunity to view scandalous sex.

The rumors that a sex tape was filmed at FAMU, which is an acronym for Florida A&M University, have clearly been taken seriously by many. The problem is, there is no place to go actually watch the tape…at least not for free.

The reality is that much like Internet death rumors, rumors of free sex tapes can spread like wild fire when the rumored sex tape involves amateurs that may or may not know they are being filmed having sex.

Thanks perhaps to the wide availability of free porn on Porn 2.0 websites, the plain old porn movie may actually be a bit passé. People seem to hunger for something different than professionals and older out of shape amateurs. The idea of watching young college students in an orgy seems to be so exciting to so many that they believe the whole idea is plausible.

The idea of sexual shenanigans on a college campus is not shocking, of course. But the idea of a true orgy being filmed and then being made available without charge across the Internet seems farfetched at best.

There are too many reasons why it almost certainly would not happen.

First of all, it is illegal to tape somebody having sex without their knowledge and consent. And it would present even more legal problems for somebody to distribute that tape. So why would anybody put themselves in legal jeopardy by distributing a tape for free?

And if a sex tape does exist purporting to show FAMU students in an orgy, how would anybody verify that they are actually FAMU students? And if they are actually FAMU students, did they sign a release and were they paid? If they were, are they not instantly professional porn stars?

The idea of free sex tapes being filmed on college campuses and shown to the world for free is ridiculous.

What is not a ridiculous idea is that there are countless ‘bad guys’ out there on the Internet who would like nothing more for people to download something they think is a free orgy sex tape from FAMU, only to find that
it is a virus laden application. What is also not a ridiculous idea is that a professional porn site will soon announce it has a FAMU sex tape available, for a fee, online.
