STROUDSBURG, Pa. – www.philly.com – A former top university official in Pennsylvania has filed for bankruptcy as he faces a lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting students.
Former East Stroudsburg University Vice President for Advancement Isaac Sanders filed for bankruptcy in August, citing more than $200,000 in debt.
Six current and former students filed suit in February claiming Sanders either attacked them or used gifts and scholarships to pressure them for sex. The suit also names the school and other top administrators.
Sanders’ bankruptcy filing lists a $150,000 claim from the suit.
Attorneys for Sanders did not respond to requests for comment Sunday. Sanders has denied the allegations in court filings.
Arguments in the civil case are scheduled for January in federal court.
