WWW- [associatedcontent.com]- Actress Thora Birch might have had a little too much assistance on the set of her latest film, “The Winter of Frozen Dreams.” The young star’s father, Jack Birch, took it upon himself to help direct the actress’ steamy sex scenes.
“The Winter of Frozen Dreams,”-ironically, a movie revolving around a woman named Barbara Hoffman, who ran a massage parlor-stars Thora Birch in the lead role. According to the true story’s plot, Hoffman seduced a string of men and then murdered them for their life insurance benefits.
Per an insider on the set of the movie, Jack Birch burst into the room during the first sex scenes Thora was set to film. According to the insider, Jack upset the cast and crew by making threats and causing his own scene.
The source states: “The director was about to shoot the first sex scene last Monday (03.19.07) when, all of a sudden, the front door is being kicked in. Her father was threatening to kill the assistant directors. Then he threatens to pull her from the movie with three days of shooting left.”
Members of the crew described the encounter as “bizarre” and “perverse”, with one member of the film’s crew breaking down into tears.
Jack Birch is most known for his role in the infamous pornographic film, “Deep Throat”, www.xxxdeepthroat.com, where he met and starred with Thora Birch’s mother, Carol Connors. According to the New York Post newspaper, the inside source claims that Jack insisted on “coaching” both Thora and her co-star (52-year-old Dean Winters) while filming the explicit scenes.
“It was so wrong. The director is saying ‘Harder! Faster!’ and the father is giving Winters the thumbs up,” explained the source.
The actress’ father, who was wearing a full-length leather coat and wraparound sunglasses during the scenes, was described as looking “like Charles Manson.” Per reports, he arrived on set each day issuing orders regarding filming. He instructed director Eric Mandelbaum on how to position the cameras so as to capture the best shots of his star daughter. Per staff, the graphic scenes were so difficult to film in Jack’s presence, that the scenes had to be shot in fourteen different takes. Millie Milka, a member of Em and Me Productions was asked if Jack had insisted that he be present during the scenes. But she declined to comment on his presence as the shoot.
