From the AdultFYO Football Files: This is What Bills Player Got After Costly Fumble Against Pats

from www.buffalonews.com – Two Hamburg teenagers have admitted spray painting the lawn of Buffalo Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin.

Hamburg Police Lt. Kevin Trask said the two 16-year-old males told police they vandalized the lawn about 2 a.m. Tuesday, after the Bills’ Monday Night Football game.

McKelvin, who fumbled a late kickoff return that led directly to the Bills’ 25-24 loss to New England, found the front lawn of his home vandalized Tuesday.

Trask said police got an anonymous tip that implicated one of the suspects. He was questioned by Detectives Todd Ehret and Scott Kashino, and implicated a friend.

The two suspects have not been charged. Hamburg Police are waiting for McKelvin to tell them if he wants charges placed.

“It’s completely his decision,” Trask said. “Right now we’ve discussed the matter with Mr. McKelvin, and we’re awaiting his decision on whether he wishes to pursue the charges.”

Trask said the case could be pursued criminally, in civil court or dropped.

He said he believes the two youths are sorry for their actions.

“From what I understand, it wasn’t well thought out,” Trask said.

The incident happened at McKelvin’s home in the upscale Briercliff Estates subdivision off Amsdell Road. The vandalism apparently consisted of the score — 25-24 — and a graphic depiction of the male anatomy scrawled in white paint on McKelvin’s front lawn.

The incident led Bills players to express concern over their privacy and safety on Tuesday.

Kawika Mitchell, linebacker for the Bills, referred to the incident in a post on his Twitter page Tuesday, although he did not specifically reveal whose house it was. Mitchell said such behavior crosses a line.

“Its def not a game to b play-in,” Mitchell wrote. “W/ all the safety issues n the NFL its not funny at all. We have Fam at our homes to protect. If u show ur face on my prop Ill make sure I do everythin to keep my Fam safe.”

He went on to warn fans not to “push the limit.”

“So dont come around think-in, oh we’ll just leave a message on his lawn or wall, b/c Im goin to take it as a threat. Its my job to protect my home as it is the job of all home owners.”

McKelvin fumbled a kickoff return with under two minutes to play and the Bills leading 24-19. Three plays later, New England’s Tom Brady hit Benjamin Watson for the go-ahead touchdown as the Patriots overcame an 11-point deficit in the final 2:06.
