from www.dailybreeze.com – A former gay-porn filmmaker sued Fox News for copyright infringement, alleging the network broadcast part of an interview he produced with Michael Jackson’s ex-wife without his permission, according to court papers obtained today.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday by producer F. Marc Schaffel in U.S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles, contends Fox aired portions of his 2003 interview with Debbie Rowe on Geraldo Rivera’s program following Jackson’s death.
Schaffel, who won a breach-of-contract judgment against Jackson in 2006, owns the copyright to the interview, according to the compliant.
Portions of the interview were originally broadcast in a special titled, “Take Two: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See,” which aired on Fox in 2003.
Schaffel produced Jackson’s charity song for 9/11 victims, “What More Can I Give?” The song was recorded but never released by Sony, allegedly at the urging of Jackson’s advisers after Schaffel’s gay-porn past came to light.
