Porn Valley- Word on the street is that at least six people, including two salesmen, were whacked Friday afternoon at JKP. I hear that Phillip Starr, the new GM did the whacking, using the excuse of a company restructuring as the reason for the cuts. Among those to go was Dan, the GM, Starr was replacing. Also in the cutbacks was an editor.
> Derek from LA Direct posts on www.pornstarperformance.com: LA Direct Models booked Olivia O’Lovely to a regular client in Florida last week, with her flight departing this morning at 9:30am from LAX. My office has just received (12:30pm) a call from Olivia that she did not go to the airport or get on the flight because “she thinks she might have strep throat.” No explanation was offered why this could not have been communicated in a more timely manner so the flight would not have been wasted. Flight cost is lost and will be repaid to client by Direct Models. Olivia is no longer repped by Direct Models.
>The story on the street as of Friday afternoon was that AVN, a high profile PETA advocate, was going to ban Alternative Modeling from exhibiting at Erotic L.A. So, Alternative Modeling who was supplying models to a website that was killing animals, pretty much had no choice but to announce that it was severing its ties with the website, Sexy Outdoor Sports, in order to stay in the good graces. That story appears on the AVN website Sunday night. But the fact of the matter is Alternative Modeling pretty much had a gun put to its head. And then Jack Spade, in an interview with me Sunday night, told me he was severing all ties with Alternative Modeling, that he didn’t like their business practices to begin with. Spade tells me he got a “concerned” phone call from Tim Connelly Saturday night about the situation.
> Shawn Reynolds writes on www.xxxporntalk.com: When I read this article at avn.com about the agency that says they are ending ties with Sexy Outdoor Sports because the girls don’t like having sex by the dead buffalo they killed, I asked myself, “Didn’t the agency know the assignment in the first place, and send the girls any way?” To come out publicly and smear Sexy Outdoor Sports for something the agent knew about in the first place smacks of a hidden agenda. I’ve been made aware in the past that Thomas Ely (his real name) will do this to producers and models for reasons that are personal and have nothing to do with professional ethics. Furthermore, this is a gentleman who solicited agency services to models and producers on the premise of 3 offices in three major cities, when he was actually operating out of the back of a garage.
p.s. This agency does not hold a license to operate in Florida, as reflected in the State of Florida licensing database.
> So Cindy Crawford walks into a bar. The bar happens to be Jerry’s Deli in Woodland Hills. It’s about 5:45 pm Sunday evening and Crawford orders a Belvedere scotch with a coke chaser. She’s waiting for a guy. The guy is from Wicked Pictures but Crawford is stood up. During the course of conversation with the barkeep, Crawford mentions that this guys drives a Porsche Boxster and that she was supposed to meet him to talk about a contract. Crawford rationalizes that because she stood him up in a previous meeting he was probably doing the same to her. Crawford shrugs and leaves. Of course all of this is happening while I’m sitting there.
