from www.antiguaobserver.com – The man convicted in the historic High Court case of bestiality was yesterday ordered to pay $1,000 in compensation to the owner of the goat.

The 33-year-old man, who had sexual intercourse with the goat, which died on the night of the incident, was given three months to comply with the order of Justice Mario Michel or he would go to prison for three years. The estimated cost to replace the animal is $600.

The adjudicator also placed the convict on two years probation and said if he breaches the order to be of good behaviour and commits a similar offence during that time, he would be taken back to court for further sentencing.

In the meantime, he must submit himself to the Probation Department for counselling to address his sexual attraction to animals.
