BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Calling it “Payback is a Bitch,” a 4Chan web forum vigilante splinter group is planning a DDoS attack on Hustler.com, Friday at 1 P.M.
Hustler has recently filed suits targeting more than 5,000 alleged users of BitTorrent networks who downloaded LFP content., and the attack by a group of hackers is seen as a means of taking retribution.
According to a story on www.xbiz.com, the planned DDoS attack on Hustler is part of Operation Payback and has called “organized protests against the reign of extreme pro-copyright organizations and watchdogs for the entertainment industries.”
A DDoS, or a distributed denial of service, attack oftentimes involves saturating the targeted server with external communications requests, such that it cannot respond to legitimate traffic, or responds so slowly as to be rendered effectively unavailable.
