Is Becoming the New Craigslist for Prosties?

Illinois – from – Naperville Police busted a prostitution ring Thursday and arrested six people who were using Internet sites to arrange trysts at hotels and motels on Chicago’s North Side.

The Naperville Police Department’s Special Operations Group headed the investigation, which found that the suspected prostitutes were posting an array of services on the Internet, according to news release the department distributed around 1:15 p.m. Friday.

Naperville Police Sgt. John McAnally said Friday the suspects were using the website but noted that Internet prostitution is very prevalent on many different sites. The six people who were arrested had been under investigation for about two weeks, he said.

Brian J. Gorski, 50, of Oswego, was charged with solicitation of a prostitute. Veronica E. Delvalle, 26, of Chicago, was arrested on two Cook County warrants for prostitution. She was also charged with possession of heroin, prostitution and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she had a marijuana pipe, crack cocaine pipes and more than 20 hypodermic syringes.

Stephanie C. Jones, 22, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with prostitution and obstruction of justice. Another Chicago resident, Damien B. Gordon, 33, was charged with driving with a suspended license, pimping, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Shauna R. Klingberg, 22, of Barrington, was charged with prostitution and James T. Anderson, 31, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license and pimping.

McAnally said similar prostitution rings are common throughout the Chicago area, “but we were just focusing on what was going on here in town.”

“The women were all arrested at various hotels or motels in Naperville,” he said. “And the two guys charged with driving while suspended were obviously driving around the area. They were arrested afterwards.”se said.
