Africa- Ever wondered what makes a porn star a porn star? 30-year-old Jesse Jane [pictured- Jesse Jane (center) with Beronique Vega (left) and Alicia Tyler] says it's about loving sex and doing it because it's a passion. She wouldn’t advise anyone who doesn't enjoy sex to go into the industry because there's no point in doing something that you hate.
"You gotta like your job. You gotta have fun with it, I mean it is fun. It's having sex for a living with people who are good at it!"
Hailing from Texas, Jesse's original name is Cindy Taylor. Her stage name is a trademark thought up by her and the production company that made her famous in the businesss — Digital Playground but Jesse Jane says that much of the persona you see in the public is really who she is. She told Chris Neumer of Stumped magazine just that: "I don’t like to pretend that I’m somebody I’m not. I like to be me. That’s what will make you successful."
Jesse began her career as a Hawaiian Tropic model and that's where Playboy found her. They wanted her in their magazine, but Jesse didn't want to do still shoots, she knew she wanted to do porn from the start. She also appeared in Hooters commercials and got a walk in role on Baywatch: The Movie which came from being in Hawaii during her Hawaiian Tropic modeling stint. In 2002, Jesse signed with adult entertainment company Digital Playground.
While Jesse is focused on promoting herself as a porn star, she has no illusions about becoming a mainstream actress. "But what I do best is be a sex symbol. I pick it up there. When I get in the scenes, I’m 120 percent into it, but otherwise…" she tells Chris Neumer. And that's despite the fact that she's aware that the porn industry is finding a place in more mainstream media.
And what advice does she give to keep it interesting in the bedroom? Variety is key, she says. "Rough it up, you got to play around, mix it up."
