from www.telegraphjournal.com – The trial of two Michigan residents accused of trying to extort nearly US$700,000 from Full House actor John Stamos by threatening to sell supposedly compromising pictures of him kicked off Monday, and already the jury has heard wild stories about strippers, drugs and sex with minors. In the words of Full House’s Stephanie, “How rude!”
Allison Coss, 23, and Scott Sippola, 30, were arrested during a sting operation in December when a rep for Stamos – who was working in conjunction with the FBI – offered to give the pair a bag of cash in exchange for supposedly incriminating photographs of the actor.
Coss and Sippola have pleaded not guilty to a list of charges, including felony extortion and misusing interstate commerce.
In defense lawyer Sarah Henderson’s opening statement Monday, she recounted how Stamos met Coss when she was 17 in Orlando, Fla., in 2004 – shortly after he had separated from his actress wife, Rebecca Romijn.
According to Henderson, Stamos spotted Coss and a friend at a nightclub, and the two were invited to his hotel room, where they were joined by two strippers who arrived with a bag of cocaine. Henderson claims Coss and her friend snapped pics of the hunky actor bending over the table.
Henderson also told the court that Coss and the actor ended up in a hot tub, where he offered to perform oral sex on her – but she declined, reports E! News. He was angry but later calmed down after Coss agreed to stay the night. Henderson says the two maintained a flirty email relationship following their night together.
Prosecutors say the pictures the case centers on don’t exist, and FBI agents testified Monday they didn’t find any incriminating snaps while searching the defendants’ house after their arrest.
from ANI – Full House star John Stamos has denied having a fling with a 17-year-old girl. The girl, six years later, has been accused of milking him for hundreds of thousands of dollars by threatening to sell compromising photos to the tabloids.
Allison Coss and Scott Sippola are accused of conspiring to extort US 680,000 dollars from Stamos for photos of him with cocaine and strippers. But the prosecutors denied that there were any photos. The presiding judge said that testimony about Stamos’ alleged fling would not be allowed and cannot be considered by jurors as evidence.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the statement read “The allegations made today in the courtroom by the defendants’ attorneys during opening statements will not be proven because they are simply untrue.”
Coss and Stamos met in Orlando, Florida, in 2004. They went up to his room and according to Coss, two strippers showed up with a bag of cocaine. When Coss refused to have oral sex with him, Stamos left the room before apologizing and inviting Coss to spend the night, which she did, Henderson said.
Vermaat said the two exchanged e-mails “with some regularity” but did not discuss details of the alleged 2004 encounter. Stamos received two e-mails last fall from a “Jessica T” who claimed she was pregnant and Stamos was the father, Vermaat said.
Another series of e-mails from a “Brian L” describing allegedly compromising photos and saying they would be sold to tabloids if Stamos did not buy them for 680,000 dollars.
