TOPEKA | Kansas legislators have approved two bills aimed at child pornography and the strip club industry.
The measures were adopted in the House and Senate during debate today.
House members voted 106-16 to increase regulation on strip clubs.
The bill would restrict where strip clubs, adult stores and other sexually oriented businesses could be located.
Sexually oriented businesses would have to close from midnight to 6 a.m. Nudity would be outlawed, and dancers could be semi-nude but would have to remain at least 6 feet away from patrons.
Senators, meanwhile, adopted a bill on a 39-0 vote that would allow victims of child pornography to file civil lawsuits to recover up to $150,000 in damages.
