Marilyn Chambers, the legendary adult movie queen who passed away last month, died from natural causes, a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman said today.
Chambers, whose real name was Marilyn Ann Taylor, was found unconscious April 12 at her home in Canyon Country. An autopsy was conducted two days later.
“The findings of the autopsy,” according to the coroner’s report, “have established the cause of death to be: effects of cerebral hemorrhage, ruptured cerebral artery berry aneurysm. Other conditions: Hypertrophic heart disease.”
Toxicology tests showed that two drugs in her system — hydrocodone and citalopram — were “within or below therapeutic levels.”
A final autopsy will be available in several weeks, coroner’s officials said.
Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, Chambers was one of the biggest names in the porn industry, ranked by Playboy magazine as one of the top 100 sex stars of the 20th century and named one of the top 10 adult film stars of all time by Adult Video News.
Chambers became a pop culture phenomenon when she starred in the X-rated “Behind the Green Door” in 1972, prompting Procter & Gamble to pull off the shelves boxes of Ivory Snow soap, then graced by her angelically complexioned face
