from www.radaronline.com – Looking “distraught” and nervous, a handcuffed Lawrence Taylor was arraigned Thursday afternoon and charged with 3rd degree rape, RadarOnline.com has confirmed. And his attorney is denying all charges.

Bail for The Dancing With The Stars alum was set at $75,000; his attorney arguing that being a public figure insures that he won’t be a flight risk.

“He’s not going anywhere. He is a law abiding citizen,” attorney Arthur Aidala said in court. The prosecution was asking for a $100,000 bail.

“That amount of money is ludicrous and ridiculous,” Aidala said. “Mr. Taylor is denying these charges, he’s 51 years old, married and has 3 children.”

Taylor is accused of calling a pimp and ordering a teenage prostitute. The 16-year-old who appeared at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, New York was allegedly paid $300 for sex, she then texted her uncle saying she was raped. The Hall Of Famer was arrested in his hotel room.

At a new conference after the hearing, Aidala said “Mr. Taylor is denying and preparing to fight these charges.”

He clarified that the charges did not include violence, but he claimed “my client did not have sex with anybody, period. Amen.” He went on to say “He did not have consensual sex with anybody last night.”

Taylor, who has a history of drugs and run-ins with the law, “is clean, clean, clean,” said Aidala. “That was the old Lawrence Taylor. This is the new Lawrence Taylor.”

Taylor’s friend of 20 years, Mark Lepselter said “I’ve never seen him this distraught.”

Taylor, who took the New York Giants to the Super Bowl twice, is due back in court on June 20.
