LOS ANGELES – A 20-year-old murder suspect,Zachary Todd Balonick,who allegedly cut the throat of a strip club patron in Canoga Park, remained jailed Wednesday without bail, police said.
Officers were called to the Exposed Dance Club in the 8200 block of Canoga Avenue on Monday about 8:30 p.m., where they found a 26-year-old man on the floor bleeding from the neck, according to the Los Angeles Police
Department.
Northridge resident Jose Omar Montalvo was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he died.
Witnesses said the victim was seated, talking to a dancer, when the suspect, who was right behind him, suddenly rose from his chair and pulled out a knife and cut the man’s throat for no apparent reason, according to the LAPD
Balonick, the suspect, then walked out of the club and drove off in a gray, late-model Audi. The car was located in front of a home in the 17300 block of Quesan Place in Encino, where Zachary Todd Balonick was arrested, according to detectives at the LAPD’s West Valley Division.
