LOS ANGELES, CA – Mardi Gras isn’t just for those making the trek to New Orleans any more, as parties nationwide are celebrating Fat Tuesday 2010. Two notable parties are being held with adult stars on both coasts to bring the festivities to those who cannot make the trip but still want to let the good times roll.
“Throw Them Beads: A Mardi Gras Affair” will be held in both Las Vegas and Atlanta with notable DJs from around the country, including DJ Flamboyant (Onyx, Wyclef Jean), AOL’s DJ Head Honcho and Violator All Star DJ Alvin D (Missy Elliott, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes). An added draw for this year’s parties might just be the presence of adult stars Julia Bond [pictured] and Kelly Shibari as hostesses for the parties. Bond will be celebrating in Atlanta; Shibari will be participating in the parties on both coasts.
Each coast will have their special entertainment as well. In Las Vegas, Shibari will be presenting to partygoers performances by rope bondage experts as well as burlesque performances by some Vegas favorites. In Atlanta, a “King and Queen of Mardi Gras” contest will be held. Mardi Gras beads and New Orleans drink specials will be available at both parties.
“I’m really happy to have Julia and Kelly at these events,” said DJ Zulu, whose company Darrenteed Productions is putting together the events. “We will be bringing some of the best DJs in the country to rock with you, and the ladies will be that extra added touch to make these parties something you won’t want to miss.”
The Las Vegas event will be held on Friday, February 12 at upscale lounge The Velvet Lion. Partygoers are encouraged to start the party early by using their complimentary limo service to the event cover charge is $30 for men and $15 for women. The Atlanta event will be held the following Friday on February 19 at The Lavish Lounge. Cover charge is $25 for men and $15 for women. Both events will be from 10pm till 3am.
“We’re excited to have DJ Zulu and Kelly celebrating Mardi Gras at our club,” said Velvet Lion general manager Pete Housley. “It’s Mardi Gras – with boobs, booze and beads – did I mention boobs? You can’t go wrong with a recipe like that!”
