Mick Blue, an adult entertainer and race car driver, secured his second consecutive National Auto Sport Association (NASA) national championship, winning the Spec E46 class at Ozarks International Raceway in Gravois Mills, Missouri, on Sunday. This victory follows his 2024 Spec E30 class national title.

Recent Racing Achievements

Blue drove his Bad Dragon-sponsored BMW to victory in the Spec E46 class, marking his second NASA national championship in as many years. The 2025 championship race, held at Ozarks International Raceway, was a 45-minute event where Blue started from pole position. He reached top speeds of 125 mph in his black 2001 BMW 330i.

In 2024, Blue won the NASA SE30 class national championship at the Utah International Motorsports Campus in Erda, Utah. During the same weekend, he also competed in the TT6 and ST6 classes, finishing third and fifth, respectively. The SE30 class is designed for BMW 325 E30 cars manufactured between 1987 and 1990, with all vehicles having identical specifications, a minimum weight of 2,700 lbs (including the driver after the race), and a maximum of 160.90 HP/TQ output on the rear wheels.

Blue previously achieved a national championship in 2022, taking first place in the NASA TT6 event at Laguna Seca, California. At the 16th annual NASA Championships at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey County, California, he also placed fourth in the ST6 course. On the same Sunday, Blue competed in the E30 class specification, moving from a P30 starting position to a P10 finish in the rain, earning him the Hard Charger honor and recognition as the best SoCal E30 racer. Additionally, Blue competed in the NASA WERC six-and-a-half-hour Endurance Championship with team Black Swan Study, finishing third. Blue drove a 1987 BMW 325i E30, which featured the logos of sponsoring pleasure product company Bad Dragon.

In November 2023, Blue became the Southern California champion when his Bad Dragon-sponsored BMW won the 2023 NASA SoCal SE30 Championship at the Track or Treat event held at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway.

Blue's Perspective on Racing

Blue, who launched his Mick Blue Racing team in 2017, described the 3.7-mile Ozarks Raceway as the most challenging track he has ever raced on. The track features 1200 feet of elevation changes in one lap. He noted that driving the track "feels like a roller coaster" due to its constant ascents and descents. Blue also highlighted the track's unforgiving nature, stating that "right off the pavement there’s grass, and then shortly after the grass are guardrails that are like walls all around the whole track." He explained that making a mistake or losing control of the car on this track carries a high probability of ending the race weekend. Blue found it a significant challenge to trust his abilities and push to the maximum without risking a crash, calling it "the hardest track I ever raced on just because it’s unforgiving for any mistake in 80 percent of the cases."

Regarding his 2024 SE30 victory, Blue shared that it was particularly meaningful because all cars in the class operate on equal footing. He explained that "everyone races with the same equipment to make it more fair," ensuring that "the race determines who’s the better driver instead of who has the better car."

Blue has been competing since 2017. He characterized his 2022 performance at the NASA Championship as "the biggest accomplishment I have reached in my racing career and it means the world to me."

The NASA Championships, introduced in 2006, are described as "one of the marquee events of the National Auto Sport Association." An associate noted that the championship event provides NASA racers nationwide with "the definitive platform for showcasing their driving talent, their attention to detail as well as their dedication to the sport." Blue added that the NASA Championships are a unique opportunity because they occur once a year, bringing together racers from all 50 states to compete for national titles in each category. He detailed the competition format: "For each class, you do a qualifying race on Friday to determine the starting position for the race on Saturday, and then on Saturday, you have the 30-minute race and whatever is your finishing position determines your starting position on Sunday for the actual championship race."
