CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Jury selection has begun in the trial of a Nevada brothel owner charged with possessing and transporting child pornography across state lines.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol arrested 55-year-old David Burgess on drug charges last summer when the motor home he was traveling in was stopped near Evanston.
Prosecutors say investigators found images of child pornography on computer equipment confiscated from the vehicle.
Last week, a federal judge denied Burgess’ motion to suppress evidence taken from the computer equipment. Burgess had argued that the computer equipment was beyond the scope of a search warrant obtained by Wyoming police.
Burgess owns the Old Bridge Ranch, a legal brothel east of Reno, Nev., and is a leader in the Hells Angels motorcycle gang. He has pleaded not guilty.
