Meadowlands, NJ- Mayor Dennis Elwell and other city officials have scheduled a noon press tomorrow to announce they are taking legal action to prevent a three-day pornography industry convention scheduled to start Friday at the Meadowlands Convention Center from taking place.
"A pornographic convention where alcohol is served in violation of state law and at a facility adjacent to a nursery school and playground is not he sort of atmosphere I'll allow in Secaucus," Elwell said in a press statement.
According to Elwell, one of the exhibits at the convention -- known as eXXXoticany -- is called "violent dehumanization."
A eXXXoticany representative couldn't be reached last night to comment.
The noon press conference will be at the Harmony Early Learning Center, 555 Park Pl.
