from www.live5news.com – A nurse from Bonneau is facing sexual misconduct charges after a Charleston County detention officer saw her give oral sex to an inmate who is being held on a murder charge, authorities say.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on May 28 at the Charleston County Detention Center on Leeds Avenue.

The incident report states that 33-year-old Angela Marie Smith, an employee with Carolina Center for Occupational Health, was administering medicine and giving examinations in a multipurpose room when the alleged misconduct occurred.

The detention officer said that after the first few patients finished their exams in a matter of minutes, one inmate, 33-year-old Myron Mitchell, remained inside the room with the nurse for an extended period of time.

When the officer looked into the room to check on the nurse, she observed Smith giving fellatio to an inmate, according to the report.

The detention officer also told authorities that Mitchell, who is being held in the jail on a murder charge out of Jasper County, saw her peeking through the door, and told her, “not to say anything.”

Smith is charged with sexual misconduct with an inmate.
