NEW YORK — One of three firefighters accused of having sex with a woman in a firehouse nicknamed the “Animal House” has been fired from his job, officials said.
The city’s Department of Investigation said in a statement Wednesday that Anthony Loscuito had been fired by Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta.
The woman in the case accused Loscuito, along with firefighters Christian Waugh and Tony Deluca, of raping and sodomizing her in the Bronx firehouse on Aug. 20, 2004.
Her allegations, denied by the three firefighters, were investigated by the Bronx district attorney’s office, which declined to prosecute. Waugh was fired in December 2004 because he refused to cooperate with a city inquiry into his alleged role; Deluca resigned last October.
During the city’s investigation, officials said in Wednesday’s statement, Loscuito gave “false and misleading” testimony about the incident.
The fire department brought disciplinary charges against Loscuito, and earlier this month an administrative law judge recommended that he be fired, the Department of Investigation said.
The firefighters’ union did not immediately return an after-hours telephone call for comment Thursday.
