Porn Valley- Is Nicole London’s company Outback Productions out of town, out of gas or out of business? London’s phones have been disconnected. And her website outbackxxx.net has been taken down. And the fact that London hasn’t been returning phone messages is a faint echo of her tiff with webmaster Danny Wallace over the creation of the Outback website that went as far as some down home litigation on the Judge Joe Brown show.
Although Judge Joe subsequently ruled against Wallace, Wallace, who had dated London at one time, stated that London was famous for not returning phone calls and pulling disappearing acts.
“If any of the four to five phone #s at Outback Productions were ever not disconnected she would have spoken with me more than she did,” said Wallace last year when his tiff with Outback had become public and London was questioning his integrity to deliver a job. “If anyone has a history of lying, it would be the queen of pathological liars Nicole London,” Wallace said in his defense. “Anyone who knows me or Nicole will tell you who the liar is.”
The last time we talked to London was in early February days prior to the airing of the Judge Joe Brown Show. London explained that she was dissolving her partnership with Australian money man Jay Andrews. London hinted at such a move the month before stating that her company booth never got delivered to Las Vegas for the January AEE Show. “Let’s put it this way,” she said at that time, “I was really surprised when my booth wasn’t at AEE.”
London also threw out a few more broad hints about screw ups and a possible restructuring of the company. And when all the crumbs seemed to be leading to the ginger bread house, London said she wasn’t the one leaving Outback. “Somebody’s leaving but it’s not me,” she hinted broadly.
Several weeks later, London admitted she and Andrews had come to a parting of the ways, that Andrews, who’s primarily in real estate and property development, was growing impatient over the fact that he wasn’t seeing a quick enough return on his investment. London also said at the time that as soon as she came to terms with Andrews, she was merging with another company called Black Mask out of Las Vegas. And that was the last she was heard from. The fallout between London and Andrews seems to have come out of nowhere.
Andrews was in town in mid-December for the shooting of a rockumentary about rapper EA-Ski which was being handled by London and her husband Robert Hunington. From what we were told, the project was being shot for HBO.
London recalled that Andrews at no time during the shoot gave any indication of his unrest. Andrews, who lives in the Philippines, stayed in town for the holidays. During the course of the Ski shoot I interviewed Andrews, who, if he was dismayed by his company’s performance, certainly wasn’t showing it.
In fact, he told me he was very excited about the direction his company was taking. According to Andrews, the company started up January, 2003.
“It is happening very quickly,” said Andrews who described London as a “hard working woman and very intelligent.” Andrews said he was lucky being in the right place at the right time and that London had a very good reputation in the adult business.
In a story that has some decided Hemmingwayesque overtones, Andrews said he was on a business trip to Cuba where he met someone who subsequently arranged a meeting with Justine Romee and her boyfriend Gil. Andrews talked about having done some business with Romee and her boyfriend and attempting to produce some features with them. But for reasons that are decidedly vague, the business relationship apparently didn’t work out.
That’s when London, who was working as a P.A. for Andrews at the time, supposedly stepped in showing him where and how the money was being spent. Andrews, who didn’t exactly like the wheres and hows was very impressed with London. “We got the ball rolling very quickly,” he said, as far as bringing London into the deal. Exit Romee.
Andrews readily admitted that he knew nothing about the porn business. “I knew absolutely zero,” he said. “My background is more in real estate and property development. However, once that I saw that profits could be made, I could see that this was something good to invest in. I made the decision and got the ball rolling. Business is business. The principles are the same worldwide.”
I asked Andrews about the EA-Ski shoot, and this is what he had to say: “We’ve decided that there is a very good market in the music industry with combining sexy girls with top music and top artists. If you combine these assets with a top director and people who are tops in lighting and sound, then you can put together a very solid package. That’s basically what we’re heading for. We’re lucky because we’re being advised every step of the way by the top people in their field. So it makes it easier for us. We listen to people and whatever they think is the best, we go and do it. We’re listening to people with a wealth of experience.”
Andrews saw Outback concentrating its efforts in two main areas. “One is the adult entertainment side of the business where we’re going to continue to do super high quality adult features more appealing to couples,” he went on to say. “And we’re going to be concentrating on our music, DVDS and promotional stuff. This is going to be the first of many projects, but we can see the potential to mix the top rap artists with very sexy girls, playing top music, having good scenery shots. And we think it’s going to be good. We’ve been advised by all sorts of people that this is the way to go for the future. So we’re going to give it our best shot.”
Not exactly the comments of a disillusioned partner.
