from www.chicagotribune.com – A Wisconsin prosecutor says a months-long investigation into sexual assault allegations against Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood is still active.
Sauk County District Attorney Patricia Barrett says in a letter to The Associated Press the investigation is ongoing. Barrett was responding to a request for records connected to the probe.
Barrett said in a telephone interview she is still waiting for information from the state crime lab, but declined to elaborate.
Two women told investigators Underwood sexually assaulted them at a Lake Delton condo on June 5. No charges have been filed.
Police said early on that the women’s statements were inconsistent.
Underwood’s attorney, Richard Kaiser, says he hasn’t heard anything more than the investigation continues. He declined further comment.
