Performer Availability Screening Services (PASS) has announced the addition of RubyLynne, Beth McKenna, and Kira Noir to its board of directors.
New Board Appointments
The appointments of RubyLynne, Beth McKenna, and Kira Noir mark a change in the composition of the PASS board. The announcement of these new members follows other recent board appointments in different organizations.
On April 28, 2026, the Board of Governors of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) appointed two students as full voting members. Brenna McGowan, a Kutztown University sophomore majoring in marketing and a member of student government, was appointed. Sade Taylor, a PennWest University sophomore majoring in early childhood education and a member of student government, also joined the PASSHE Board of Governors. Cynthia Shapira, chair of the board, stated that student members provide an important voice in decisions.
Brenna McGowan is vice president of the Kutztown Student Government Board and serves as recruitment and retention chair. She is also vice chair of Kutztown University Student Services, Inc., a partnership between the university and student government. Kenneth Long, President of East Stroudsburg University, also serves on the State Board of Higher Education, holding Seat 1 - PASSHE University. His term began on August 28, 2024, and is set to end on August 28, 2030. Long was appointed president of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania by the Board of Governors for Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education on November 2, 2022, after serving as interim president for over two years. He has over 35 years of experience in higher education, having previously served as the university’s chief administrative, financial, and operations officer. Prior to his role at ESU, Long held positions at other PASSHE universities, including assistant vice president of administration and finance at Kutztown University for five years and interim vice president for finance and administration at Cheyney University for six months in 2012. His career also includes roles at the University of Toledo.
Recent Organizational Changes
The Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce also saw a change in its board late last month. On January 31, the chamber hosted its 88th annual celebration and Officer Installation Banquet at the Aransas Pass Civic Center. This annual event honors businesses in Aransas Pass and includes the installation of new leadership. Roland Rodriguez with the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce described the event as a night to honor leadership, build relationships, and create progression for the Aransas Pass business community. During the casino-themed event, the new chairman and board members for 2025 were announced. Awards were also presented to individuals and businesses for their contributions to the business environment, including best large and small businesses, an Educator of the Year, and a Citizen of the Year.
Industry Context
The addition of RubyLynne, Beth McKenna, and Kira Noir to the PASS board occurs within a broader landscape of organizational governance. Boards of directors and governors play a role in policy, tuition, and systemwide priorities, as noted by Cynthia Shapira regarding the PASSHE Board of Governors. The involvement of student members, for example, is intended to bring student perspectives directly into board decisions. Similarly, the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce’s annual event highlights the importance of leadership and community engagement in business development.
The specific roles and contributions of RubyLynne, Beth McKenna, and Kira Noir to the Performer Availability Screening Services board have been announced as new members. This development for PASS aligns with the ongoing process of board appointments and changes observed in various organizations, from higher education systems to local chambers of commerce.
