PETA is known for its campaigns against animal cruelty, but did you ever think they were in support of the porn industry? Well the organization is now working on a new project and it’s none other than a porn site.
You will be able to find the site at peta.xxx and it will be “a pornography site that draws attention to the plight of animals,” PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt said.
Instead of shunning the porn industry, PETA looks to embrace “adult entertainment” to help its overall cause. PETA is widely known for its “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” ad campaigns with celebrities like Eva Mendes and Khloe Kardashian showing off their skin and bones in support of animals. Will more skin be shown on the porn site? Well you’ll just have to wait and see.
The porn site has yet to be launched and the .xxx domain is not yet secured, but trademark holders can begin protecting their brands, starting at $200 and up, on Sept. 7.
This isn’t the first time PETA has had its eyes on this industry. Previously, PETA requested that the owners of SEX.COM domain show some charity love and donate to the organizations cause.
Even the Internet domain name is no stranger to PETA, as the animal activists recently crossed paths with the industry when it attempted to boycott web host Go Daddy, after its former CEO shot an elephant. Fitness expert and Go Daddy spokeswoman Jillian Michaels came to their rescue when she led a demonstration against the mistreatment of elephants in circuses in Los Angeles.
Are you curious to check out PETA’s porn site? It will probably cause all kinds of excitement.
