Las Vegas- Last year, iPhone’s naughty fans couldn’t have been more delighted. With the introduction of iPlayboy, a collection of multimedia features designed for the touch-based phone, the ‘then-new’ Apple phone discovered a whole new utility for its ‘then-unique’ touch feature.
Now in another effort to appreciate the Apple innovation (why is Apple the apple of Playboy’s affections we wonder), Playboy has announced a mobile version of its Web site for the iPhone, also tagged as iPlayboy.
The Playboy Web site has a user interface (UI) that complements the dimensions of the iPhone. Its features include a HotorNot clone, a nightlife adviser, and Playboy Radio, which is an MP3-based online radio show — all this in addition to the regular bunny content.
Also a sign of the times, Playboy seems to have been bitten by the social networking bug; it is soon planning to introduce the networking feature on the mobile version of Playboy.com, reports Cnet blogs. To gather more content for the Web site, the company is also mulling content partnerships in future.
And to top it all, the Hugh Hefner-owned company is holding a “Miss Mobile Playboy” contest in Las Vegas tonight. There are 9 girls vying for the “Miss Playboy Mobile” crown that comes with added perks including $5,000 in hard cash plus a trip to the Playboy Mansion for a photo shoot.
Oops we forgot to mention that if you’re in India, you’ll have to wait a wee bit longer (legally that is) to get your greasy hands on the iPhone-sized Playmates.
