France – Playboy.com, the online website of Playboy Enterprises has announced signing an agreement with 1633SA to expand multi-media distribution via online and wireless in France. 1633SA, which currently publishes the French edition of Playboy magazine, will launch Playboy.fr in the next 4 weeks. Playboy operates similar gaming and girlie content sites in countries including Germany, Taiwan, the Netherlands and Brazil.
The portal offers subscription-based adult content, theme clubs; a virtual auction house besides an online network which includes wagering and gaming sites which can be accessed at Playboy.com/gaming.
The publishers said Playboy.fr will focus on the entertainment and lifestyle interests of young men by offering a wide range of content, including love and sex, arts, sports operated by the local editorial staff of Playboy France. Playboy.fr plans to mirror the U.S. multiple revenue stream model, which includes advertising, subscription-based clubs and e-commerce offerings.
In addition, 1633SA will offer Playboy’s content to mobile phones through wireless networks. ‘We are excited about the launch of Playboy.fr and the wireless offering so that we will provide a truly multi-media experience to our consumers and to our advertisers,’ said Michel Birnbaum, CEO of 1633SA.
