DALLAS – The head of the Dallas police union is demanding an apology from Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens and his publicist, after what was first described as a suicide attempt by Owens using painkillers.
The Dallas Police Association is angry that Owens and the publicist disputed part of a police report dealing with Owens’ trip to the hospital.
The police report that was received by several media outlets made reference to a suicide attempt. But the publicist has called the report inaccurate. And Owens told reporters he can’t remember what he said to rescuers.
The union chief says police were doing their job — and now they’re being criticized by what he calls “some fancy little football person.” Senior Corporal Glenn White says, “Those officers are ten times better than this man.”
He’s telling Owens and the publicist to apologize to the officers who answered the call.
There’s no immediate response from either.
