In a snafu earlier this year, a Fight-Club type prank was pulled when thirty seconds of porn cut into the last 3 minutes of the Super Bowl on TV sets all over Tuscon. One of the two clips that interrupted the game was from Club Jenna. Like the Arizona Cardinals, Jenna Jameson calls Arizona home.
Jameson isn’t the only porn resident. A lot more are picking up and moving to Phoenix, Ariz. Whatever the reason for the porn-on-Superbowl stunt, the porn industry nestled into Phoenix’s couch a couple of weeks later with the 1st Annual Arizona Porn Star Ball. On hand for the event were porn stars Pharyn Sparxxx, Mya Lee, Taryn Thomas, Priya Rai and Sophia Rossi.
An estimated $12 billion has been made annually by the porn industry. However, in 2007 that figure may have dropped to $1 billion. Part of the reason is that DVD sales have fallen more than 30% since 2005. With online porn, the purchasing of a physical product is just an obstacle to getting immediate satisfaction. The reason for the change of location though isn’t clear although recent events may create a clear reason to move to Phoenix. The looming requirement has forced many in the porn industry the threat of transplanting themselves. And the next best place is Phoenix, Ariz.
