from www.browardpalmbeach.com – Porn star Ryan Driller’s a young man who might actually have more of a Bob Vila streak in him than one would imagine at first glance. Gifted with slightly rugged, boyish looks (as well as another, major gift), this Colorado native is a fun and affable guy who’s the life of the party and appreciates the inherent comedic nature of the human condition.

A man of many hats, Driller made some time for us in anticipation of his appearance at the upcoming EXXXotica Expo in Fort Lauderdale. While he was completely candid on his musical choices, which he will not be taking back, we’re pretty sure that whatever after-party he lands at while in town, will have an extra element of genuine fun in it, like the numerous and quite frankly funny sex parodies he’s acted in.

New Times: Hey man, thanks for taking the time to answer a few of our silly questions!

Ryan Driller: Oh, this is going to be fun.

Q: “Driller’s” a pretty cool name for the obvious reason; how do these alternative names sound to you: “Ryan USCG Operations Specialist,” “Ryan Diamond Prospector,” and “Ryan Gold Rush?”

Love that! Though, technically, it is “Captain” Ryan Driller, as honored by the USCG…

Q: Looking over your Instagram and Twitter accounts, it seems like you’re a pretty handy guy around the house as well as hard-partying dude, any other hidden talents we don’t know about?

I’m pretty open, and it’s all out there on my Twitter and Instagram. My green thumb is starting to come through and my psychiatrist’s couch is on order right now. Otherwise, does breathing through my ears count? Though, I think that’s just on my regular videos.

Q: Your career is peppered with some standard industry fare but what jumps out the most, is the amount of parodies you’ve been involved in. Do you gravitate towards that or are they generally funnier and more relaxed to film?

Tough call! The parodies are a bit funnier to play with, given the scripts and the extra “non-sex” film time.

I don’t know if I’d say they’re more relaxed though. Donning a skin-tight spandex suit for 13 plus hours, with pages of dialogue and the added pressure of the additional crew all waiting for their burger dinner or to go home at the 11th hour isn’t particularly relaxing. It’s awesome and I love it (more than I ever thought I would); but I wouldn’t say it’s as easy as playing with my girlfriend’s big …’d friend.

But I do gravitate towards them for the work and the play time. It’s a whole new and challenging experience to recreate, comically, a character and piece that so many people already know and feel about.

Q: How was your experience on Jeff Ross’ The Burn like?

Oh, it was an adventure, alright. Jeff was great and so friendly. He didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes (or worse) too much and really made sure to not be too awkward. He asked if it was OK to come do that skit with Eva and I while we were mid-shoot, and was a bit impressed I think by our ability to shoot our stills, doing what we do, and banter back with him while he was right up in it all.

Q: Since we are predominantly the music section of the paper, I have to ask, who’s your favorite artist/musician and what kind of music do you like to get down with both professionally and in private?

I’m a huge music fan and even dabbled in radio before getting into the industry. I love how it can play off your emotions, or incite new ones given circumstances. I listen to everything and am one of “those guys” that can’t give one favorite, because it depends on my mood.

Some of my go to songs/artists, though: Filter’s “Take a Picture,” Imagine Dragons’ “On Top of the World,” Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling,” King Harvest’s “Dancing in the Moonlight,” Pitbull, Ludacris, Tchaikovsky and P!nk. (Said it. Meant it. Not taking it back)

Q: Have you found your boyish looks to be an asset or a disadvantage for you?

Initially it was a HUGE disadvantage. I wasn’t relatable to the average viewer. In fact, producers and companies specifically told me, “You’re too good looking.” But, now with the artistic shoots, the parodies, and I feel, the growing acceptance of the adult industry publicly, you’re seeing better looking guys in scenes and the industry. For the parody stuff, it’s definitely an asset though.

I mean, long before Axel shot me, I’d been getting compared to Clark Kent.

Q: So, did anybody end up in jail during that Cleveland wedding you attended?

Ha! You do stalk me. Fortunately no, we were well-behaved. Though, there was ample opportunity.

Q: Who are some of your favorite people to work with?

I’ve yet to work with anyone that I didn’t love working with.

Q: What has been the weirdest thing that has happened to you on set?

I shot a scene years ago, where the girl had a prosthetic vagina attached to her mouth. Imagine Predator without the teeth. That was weird.

Q: The most memorable?

Meeting a few of the girls in the industry that I’ve been a fan of and had crushes on since seeing their scenes; and them all being amazingly personable, adorable and so much better in person.

Q: Anybody you’d like to work with that you haven’t?

Of course, but I’ll never tell. Don’t want to add pressure or jinx it.

Q: Thanks for talking to us and we hope you have a great time in Ft. Lauderdale!

Can’t wait!
