Adult film performer Ashley Youdan, known as Kendall Karson, has filed a $12 million civil lawsuit in Manhattan against violinist David Garrett, alleging physical and mental abuse, including claims he forced her to drink his urine and attempted to hire a sex slave. Youdan's legal team states the complaint is supported by voice recordings, photographs, and medical records, while Garrett's lawyer has called the allegations "outrageous and baseless."
Relationship and Initial Allegations
The lawsuit states that Garrett, a 35-year-old Juilliard-trained violinist, paid Youdan for sex in August 2014. Days later, he asked her to marry him. Youdan, 28, claims Garrett moved her into his Manhattan apartment and introduced her to his family and friends as his fiancée. She also states she traveled with Garrett to Malta, Mexico, and Spain. Garrett, who earned the title of world’s fastest violinist in 2008 by playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” in 66 seconds, asked Youdan to end her adult-film career, which she did, according to the suit.
The lawsuit alleges that Garrett's behavior "began to take a dark turn for the worse" on Christmas Day 2014. According to court papers, Garrett responded to a Craigslist advertisement for a "sex slave," intending to perform "BDSM" acts and place the individual in a cage while he and Youdan attended a nightclub. The suit claims Garrett corresponded with the advertised "sex slave" and waited outside his apartment, but the individual never arrived.
Claims of Abuse and Injury
On January 7, 2015, Youdan claims Garrett forced her to drink his urine. Court papers describe Garrett negligently and recklessly holding her down on a kitchen counter by the neck and throwing urine in her face, then pressing down on her throat to make her swallow. The suit further alleges Garrett threw urine between her legs, with some entering her vaginal cavity, causing injury. Youdan claims Garrett then engaged in intercourse with her despite her objections. She states she subsequently required antibiotics and believes the incident led to her developing kidney stones.
The lawsuit also claims Garrett forced Youdan into rough sex that resulted in a fractured rib. Youdan has accused Garrett of physical and mental abuse, including alleged bruising she said she suffered during an argument with the violinist. Later in 2015, Youdan states she learned about sexual relationships Garrett had engaged in with transsexual porn actors and escorts. She also claims that one night she found Garrett under the influence of cocaine, and he proceeded to slam her against a kitchen counter, causing injuries.
The pair separated in February. Youdan's lawyer, Eddie Hayes, a former Bronx homicide prosecutor, commented on the allegations, stating, "Even I think this is awful, and I’m an expert in awful." Elisabeth Conroy, another lawyer for Youdan, stated that the complaint is supported by voice recordings, photographs, and medical records.
Garrett's Response
Brian Maas, Garrett's lawyer, has described the allegations as "outrageous and baseless." Maas stated that his client had not received any lawsuit from Youdan. He added that Youdan's public leveling of these charges "fits with a pattern of behavior of someone who has made numerous threats to David."
