April 23, 2004 – Two suspects charged in connection with the killing of a porn actress have been held over for trial. Photographer Anthony Frederick is charged with murdering 23-year-old Canadian Model Natel King.
It was March 23rd when the body of a woman was found along River Road in Whitemarsh Township. And it didn’t take lawmen very long to confirm that the body was that of Natel King, who’d been missing since February 29th, since completing a photo session in Conshohocken. Today, her alleged killer had a preliminary hearing.
Investigators say Natel King was killed in the basement of a house in Conshohocken on February 29th and dumped along the banks of the nearby Schuylkill River. They say she was killed while shooting a so-called “snuff film”.
The body of porn actress and model Natel King was found on March 23rd, three weeks after she’d been reported missing. She’d been stabbed multiple times in the chest and neck. Natel had contracted for a photo shoot with Tony Frederick and his assistant, Jennifer Mitkus.
Some of the shoots were done in the basement of the Conshohocken apartment house. That’s where police say they found King’s blood and other evidence. Her body was wrapped in a shroud, a backdrop that appears in other pictures taken by Frederick. She was still wearing what appears to be the same prop Frederick admits he used in a photo shoot earlier in the day, a ball gag.
When police searched Frederick’s house, they found a handwritten contract that spelled out several sexual poses, and a snuff video. Frederick’s lawyer says there’s no evidence his client was involved, and that the snuff video was anything more than a simulation.
Frederick told police he erased the pictures he took in the basement. Police say King put up a fight. They say they found her blood along with Frederick’s blood on his car.
He’s charged with first-degree murder. Mitkus is charged with covering up for him. Both told police they last saw King when she left the photo shoot headed for a nearby restaurant.
Castor presented only enough evidence to get the case sent to trial. He says there may be further charges filed against Mitkus.
