Ron Jeremy Plays the Owner of a Men’s Magazine in “Showboys”

Spend your weekend with advertiser Blue Coyote and their Memorial weekend special,

from – Loads of extras were recruited for a big scene in the small-budget film “Showboys” that’s filming in and around Fresno.

The scenes were shot last week at the Rainbow Ballroom.

Producer Diana Vu says the film is loosely based on a short film that Fresno’s Johnny Soto and Vu made about a young man attending a collectible magazine show.

The scene depicted a convention for a men’s magazine.

Vu was also looking for local vendors to set up as part of the convention scene.

Vu says the filmmakers want this to be a PG-13 movie. The filming includes scenes with adult-film actor Ron Jeremy, who plays the founder of the magazine and becomes a central figure in the story.
