Baltimore, MD — Adult Film star Ron Jeremy has put his name and image on a line of hot sauce products that are being marketed in retail outlets, trade show conventions, online and offline novelty shops.
After starring in 1,800 adult films and then parlaying his adult film fame into a guest starring roles on the reality television series Surreal Life, and his book [which came out today]; Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz.
Other mainstream projects Jeremy has been involved in recently include appearances in film and television projects “Reindeer Games,” “Nash Bridges’” “America’s Most Wanted,” “Homo Erectus” with David Carradine, “Boondock Saints” with Willem Dafoe, John Frankenheimer’s “52 Pick-Up” just to name a few of the many mainstream movie projects, and more than a dozen music videos.
The “Hedgehog” uses his famous mug to sell a products distributed by Sauce2u.Com, a niche manufacturer of hot sauce products that targets consumers who like their hot sauce and the labels they come with a little “spicier” than the average bottle of Tabasco.
Sauce2u.com, which markets mainstream hot sauce products to the Boy Scouts, the Marine Corp., US Army Ranger’s, professional athletes, weddings and conventions and soon to be released a line of Hot Sauce for Dummies® with Wiley Publishing.
“It’s a real nice sauce,” Jeremy says, “adding that it’s not too hot, but just right for the way he likes it.” In addition to getting a cut on sales, Jeremy has played a hand in some of the packing and marketing slogans for the product. Jeremy says that this is the first food product he has endorsed so far in his career. Other endorsements include rolling papers, cigars, pipes, an action figure, T-shirts, and greeting cards.
“I love to eat, so this is perfect,” he said, adding that he will be pleasantly surprised if the product becomes a big hit and ends up in Target, Spencers or some other mainstream retail outlets.
According to Jon Yuspa, President of Sauce2u.Com, pictures of Jeremy on the six and ten-ounce bottles of hot sauce will be part of a series. Jeremy’s faces have been appearing on Sauce2u products since last June.
“Ron will definitely put us a little more in the spotlight,” said Yuspa, who met Jeremy when he did adult guest booking and sponsored the Infinity Broadcasting network.
Yuspa said. “The TripleX side of it is a niche in which we don’t compete with anyone.” Sauce2u is also in talks over similar porn-related marketing deals with representatives from Vivid Entertainment and Dennis Hof’s Moonlight Bunny Ranch.
