Director Roy Karch [he’s the other Roy Karch who doesn’t owe a ton of money] isn’t your average media whore, so I doubt whether we’ll see Karch getting a weekly award for that from Sean at www.pornlegends.com any time soon. But an item in this week’s news did get Karch off the couch to tout a mainstream project he just completed.
The death of songwriter Ellie Greenwich www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=36939 lends some significance to this particularly since Greenwich used to write songs for Phil Spector, and Karch’s project titled “I’m Good at Freaky” [great title, by the way] involves the last hours the infamous record producer shared with Lana Clarkson, the model/actress he was convicted and sentenced to prison for shooting fatally.
Nevertheless, Karch claims he can’t say too much other than that because there’s an official press release still to come out.
“We’ve been working on this since November,” he explains. We’re finishing sound and picture lock.”
Which anticipated my question when I expressed concern as to whether it were a talkie, primarily because it seems like Karch has been in the adult business before Moses parted the Red Sea.
“It’s the last three hours in the Phil Spector mansion,” Karch relates. “From the time they enter until the gun goes off- sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. The guy who plays Spector [also the executive producer] brought the script to me. It’s a really interesting, edgy movie.”
According to Karch, there will be a screening the end of September.
