Next Door Films has announced its first full-length feature since 2024's award-winning cowboy film Breaking Frontiers, titled Almost Real. The sci-fi comedy feature combines elements of romance and experimentation to tell the story of a guy and his synthetic sex-robot.
Production Details
The movie was written and directed by Jeremy Babcock, who explained that the project is his tribute to 80's era movies with an insane premise but a lot of heart. He wanted to take a lighthearted look at a not too distant future where companionship becomes a choice between sex or real human connection.
The film brings together some of the best talent on ASGmax, according to Babcock. "Not only did all of these guys bring their sexual A-game, but they absolutely nailed both the comedy and the heart of these scenes," he said. "This was easily the most I've ever laughed on a shoot, and I think that joy comes through in the final product."
Release Schedule
The first part of Almost Real, titled In The Name of Science, will air on February 14, Valentine's Day, with the next three installments following every few weeks. The movie is available exclusively on ASGmax.com.
Next Door Studios has released four parts of the feature so far: Part 1 - Almost Real (Nico Coopa & Ryder Owens), Part 2 - Love in the Time of Robots (Nico Coopa, Grant Ducati & Ryder Owens), Part 3 - Out of Control (Nico Coopa, Grant Ducati & Ryder Owens), and Part 4 - Out With A Bang (Nico Coopa, Grant Ducati & Ryder Owens).
