Porn Valley- www.examiner.com- As someone who writes about sex, spends an awful lot of time online, and has a love/hate (but mostly love) relationship with porn and all things sexy, let’s just say I’ve managed to come across plenty of clips of porn star Sasha Grey in some compromising positions – some of them unspeakably hot, some of them just unspeakable.
If you want to see some mind-blowing blowjobs and other wild sex, well, just get to Googling “Sasha Grey” – She has AVN Awards like Best New Starlet, Best Group Sex Scene, Best Three-Way Sex Scene, Best Oral Sex Scene, and Female Performer of the Year to show for this side of her work, and she’s probably one of the most Google-able people in the world: A prolific and incredibly well publicized porn star who is also an avid social networker, self-promoter, and hardcore Twitterer. Wait until you get home from work, okay?
For the purposes of this column, however, I’m more interested in the other side of Sasha Grey: The side, for example, that is making an arty indie film debut this month, starring in Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience (in select theaters May 22; available on Comcast’s On Demand April 30); the side that is serving as a fine-arts muse to painters like James Jean; the side that is making mainstream marketing crossovers like modelling (nude, mind you) for American Apparel and grabbing high-end gigs like this campaign for Manoukian; the side that is collaborating with music legends like Lee “Scratch” Perry and making her own “experimental death dub orgasm” music as Atelecine and starring in totally SFW videos by bands like The Roots’ “Birthday Girl.”
When Grey first made her barely legal debuts as a precocious 18 year old talking about existentialism, feminism, and idealist dreams about porn leading to bigger and better things for her, a lot of people laughed it all off as nattering naivete. Grey turned 21 recently, and has accomplished more than even she might have imagined. Anyone still laughing?
