AMSTERDAM—Your Choice, one of the oldest and most respected adult companies serving the United Kingdom and Europe, has announced the hiring of industry veteran Scott McGowan to handle internet distribution for Your Choice Productions.
The relationship between Scott McGowan and Your Choice began in 2005. It was a snowy afternoon just outside of Amsterdam when McGowan and Your Choice Product Manager Jacco Kwakkel sat down over beers to exchange ideas and, of course, get drunk. Both goals were achieved.
In the five years since then, McGowan has worked informally with Your Choice at various times and locations. Now, their professional relationship is cemented officially in ink. As of June 1, McGowan takes on the role of new media manager.
Your Choice CEO Jay Pannell said of McGowan’s hire, “Scott has felt like part of our family here for a long time, and this hire only makes it official. We have many things in common, specifically a focus on treating customers and partners with respect and dignity. His wealth of knowledge and experience will be a great asset in continuing to achieve that goal while simultaneously growing and moving forward.”
For McGowan, this ends a two-year hiatus from the adult entertainment industry. “I wasn’t sure that I’d ever return to adult for variety of reasons,” said McGowan. “But when my wife and I decided to move to the Netherlands, it seemed only natural that I get in touch with Your Choice. I’m honored that an ethically sound company with such a rich history has invited me to be a part of their team.”
The history to which McGowan refers spans nearly 25 years of continuous operation under singular ownership. During the company’s early days in the mid to late 1980s, Your Choice stood at the forefront of the fight for free speech in the United Kingdom and endured many years of persecution by law enforcement agencies. Ultimately, Your Choice not only survived but also flourished. Today, the company still employs some of its original staff and regularly serves some of its initial customers from more than 20 years ago.
Starting off, McGowan will focus on the internet distribution of Your Choice Productions. Along with its retail operations and Your Choice Productions, the company also operates a European distribution wing that to date has focused on classic American adult films from the likes of VCX and Video-X-Pix.
