Fox has apparently rejected its first commercial for the Super Bowl.
AshleyMadison.com, a company that facilitates extramarital affairs for its clients and employs the tagline, “Life is short, have an affair,” says it has been rejected for the big game for the second time.
AshleyMadison.com founder Noel Biderman doesn’t think it’s the content of the ad that Fox objects to. He thinks it’s the use of a porn star in the commercial.
“Now that so many adult film stars including Jenna Jameson and Sasha Grey have crossed over into the mainstream, it’s disappointing that the NFL continues to discriminate against them,” Biderman said in a news release. “I wonder if they’re planning on restricting Ben Roethlisberger from playing or Rex Ryan from coaching in the big game.”
Roethlisberger has been accused of two sexual assaults, but was never charged.
Ryan was linked to foot-fetish videos earlier this season.
Porn star Savanna Samson is featured in the commercial.
In 2009, AshleyMadison.com was rejected for the Super Bowl by NBC, but did manage to get its commercial on the local NBA affiliate in Houston. The company calls Houston “a very strong market” for its service.
