Belgrade – Local talent Branka Black Rose [pictured] stole the show here Friday as an event billed as Serbia’s first “international erotic fair” bared all.
As non-stop strippers twirled around a greasy pole on the central stage, seductive hostesses guided visitors through a dizzying array of sex toys, lingerie and pornographic films.
Many of the acts were from north of the border in Hungary.
“We hope to make some connections and enlarge our business in Serbia,” said Hungarian porn filmmaker Istvan Kovacs, otherwise known as Kovi.
Visitor Marina, a 20-year-old student from Belgrade, said: “It’s the first time that an event like this has been held in Belgrade, so of course we are curious”.
Organiser Andjelko Trpkovic said he was surprised by the response.
“It was time to organise such as event. People can, with a little luck, begin to break down their taboos and openly talk about delicate matters,” he said.
“The important thing is that they have fun. That’s our goal.”
Petar, 48, and his wife, Bojana, 42, said they were happy that the sex industry was coming to their town.
“It’s new. Up to now we could only see an event like this on television or when we went to Budapest,” Petar said.
Bojana had only one complaint: “There aren’t enough male strippers,” she said.
