from www.babble.com – Michele Bundy apparently isn’t the first woman to have problems with Shannon Sharpe. The mother of one of his children also filed a battery charge against him, according to the New York Post, and it was one of a stunning 10 civil complaints against Sharpe filed by women over the years in Atlanta’s Fulton County.
That comes as Bundy filed for a restraining order against Sharpe, and now allegations that he sexually assaulted her have arisen. It really makes you wonder if Sharpe has a serious violence problem, and it makes you scared for his kids.
According to reports six years ago, Sharpe “removed the mother of his children from his house by force,” which led to that particular battery charge.
While Sharpe is certainly a star athlete who could be targeted via civil complaints by people who want money, 10 complaints is a lot. It makes you think of the old “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” phrase. Maybe Sharpe, like so many athletes, doesn’t understand that just because he’s a big-deal athlete, he can’t do anything he wants, and it sets a terrible example for children.
I’ll be interested to see where CBS comes down on this, now that Bundy’s accusation is out and Sharpe’s past is being scrutinized as well. It seemed like the former tight end suspended himself from appearing on the network now that the public is getting riled up, but that’s not likely the case, now is it?
