WWW- It’s been 13 years since that pantyless interrogation scene in “Basic Instinct” had men around the world freeze-framing her crisscrossed legs. But 47-year-old Sharon Stone is still a ticking sex bomb.
For weeks now, Sony execs have been going back and forth with the ratings mullahs over Stone’s various postures in “Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction.”
We’re not sure what they thought of the early scene in which a man is pleasuring Sharon while she’s speeding along a cliffside road. (The drive doesn’t end well for the guy checking under her hood.) But the MPAA did get hung up on some scorching orgy scenes.
At first, it slapped an NC-17 on the flick. But after some snipping by director Michael Caton-Jones and editor John Scott, the ratings board deigned to give it an R.
“It is a hard R,” says a Sony spokesman, perhaps sensing our disappointment at the news. “It’s a graphic psychological thriller. The official MPAA designation is, ‘Strong sexuality, nudity, violence, language and some drug content.'”
The sequel – which was delayed by years of litigation between Stone and her producers – finds novelist Catherine Tramell (Stone) under suspicion following the mysterious death of a sports star. As she once lured Michael Douglas to her flame, here she beguiles David Morissey, who plays a criminal psychiatrist assigned to profile her.
We’re told that Stone refused to use a body double. “Believe me, she’s still hot,” says one guy who’s seen the action.
Meanwhile, Stone wants everyone to know she’s not showing that bod to talk-show host Craig Ferguson or hoop-star-turned-actor Rick Fox, contrary to reports. “The only men in her life now are her sons, Roan and Laird,” a pal swears to us.
Not that she’s completely rid of ex-husband Phil Bronstein. The National Enquirer reports that she and the San Francisco Chronicle editor have agreed to an unusual custody deal under which, for the next four years, 5-year-old Roan will live for a year with Dad, then a year with Mom.
Stone’s rep declined to comment. But a friend tells us the actress, who lives in L.A., intensely misses Roan, who is going to school in San Francisco.
“But they’ll get to visit on weekends and vacations,” says the friend. Stone has full custody of Laird, her adopted 8-month-old, who travels with her on location.
