from www.cbslocal.com – Kanye West‘s alleged sex tape is reportedly making the rounds. But Vivid Entertainment, the company that released Kim Kardashian’s romp with Ray J, is still waiting its chance to authenticate the clip.

Reports surfaced Friday (Sept. 21) of a 20 minute clip of Kanye West having sex with a Kim Kardashian Look-alike. While the internet waits impatiently, Vivid CEO, Steven Hirsch, explained how the process will likely play out.

“We have not yet been approached,” Hirsh he told CBS Local exclusively.

“That’s what makes me skeptical. They would usually come to us by now or very soon. We are the company known for putting out the best celebrity sex tapes.”

Vivid is a leader in the adult film industry. It has released famous celebrity sex tapes, including Tommy Lee and Pamala Anderson; Montana Fishburne, daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne; as well as Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s clip. But Hirsh believes a Kanye West tape could top them all.

“It depends on the quality of the tape, the length, the lighting, the sex,” Hirsch said.

”But something like this could go for a couple of million dollars. I don’t think there has ever been a sex tape with a star of this magnitude. Tommy Lee was big, but this is a different world and Kanye is a special guy. He’s everywhere.”

According to Radaronline, Kanye was furious about the tape surfacing. Would he need to sign off on the tape in order to allow an official release?

“Sex tapes come in many different shapes and sizes,” Hirsch said.

“Sometimes it comes directly from the person, like in Montana’s case. Sometimes exes or third parties submit them. Certainly celebrities can make it difficult [to release them]. But in some cases, snippets make their way on the internet then stars come forward and say, I should make something off of it since it’s out there anyway, which is what happened with Kim Kardashian.”

While it is anyone’s guess if Kanye would ultimately allow the tape to the market, Hirsch makes a point to highlight the practical benefits of the celebrity sex tape.

“I think if you look at all the celebrity tapes that have come out, not a single career has been hurt,” he said.

“In fact, it has been enhanced. Especially with Kim. We made a big deal with her and that has been the most successful celebrity sex tape yet. And she has had a great career after it.”

It stands to reason that the Kardashian look-alike stands to rake in big dollars if the alleged Kanye tape ever comes to the market. Hirsch is not convinced.

“We’d have to see what she looks like and how she performs on the tape,” he said. “She could be completely overshadowed by Kanye because he’s a huge star. Unless she does something amazing that has never been seen, I don’t know.”

But all of this talk of a sex tape could be premature without the evidence.

“If it’s real, we will hear something fairly soon,” Hirsch said. “Until then, it remains to be seen.”
