Cherry Hill, NJ- A strip club owner from Cherry Hill will admit conspiring to hide $800,000 in income from the federal government and paying staff under the table, federal prosecutors said.
Bishop Krabsz, 59, of Cherry Hill, who co-owns Dangerous Curves in Philadelphia, has a change of plea hearing scheduled for April 5, according to court papers filed Tuesday.
The indictment charges Krabsz and co-owner Kevin Rankin hid $800,000 in personal income for the years 2000 through 2004, which saved them $200,000 in federal taxes. They also paid employees $1.4 million in cash wages, cheating the government out of at least $107,000 in payroll taxes, the indictment states.
Accountant Enrico Nardini prepared a fake set of tax returns with higher income figures the pair used to apply for bank loans, Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Schwartz said. Nardini and Rankin have pleaded not guilty.
The case grew out of the corruption probe of convicted Philadelphia Councilman Richard Mariano.
No phone listing could be found in Cherry Hill for Krabsz, who is also known as Stephen Bishop. His lawyer, Carl D. Poplar, did not immediately return a message after hours Tuesday.
